EZYCOPTER
- ABSTRACT
EzyCopter,
designed by Yoshine, is a new generation of coaxial helicopters
intended for leisure recreational flying as well as a platform for
military VTOL UAV applications.
EzyCopter employs a coaxial
rotor system simplificated
with advanced cyclic, collective and throttle controls to provide
torque-free VTOL capabilities. It does not require a tail rotor.
Distinctive
features of the EzyCopter:
>
Counter-Rotating Coaxial Rotor Drive System
>
Integrated Cyclic/Collective Control
>
Fully Articulated Rotor System
>
No Tail Rotor Technology
> Four
Main Rotor Blades
> Twin
engines
In January 2005, an EzyCopter
demonstrator was successfully flown with a computer on board and remotely
controlled by our pilot.
The EzyCopter is the world's first coaxial
helicopter equipped with twin engines and four fully independent rotor
blades. The coaxial design eliminates the tail rotor, thereby permitting
the use of smaller horsepower and lighter weight engines for higher ratio
required payload - a feat never accomplished, heretofore, in
manned or unmanned coaxial helicopter development.
The
coaxial design also allows for four main rotor blades to be installed
instead of two, permitting the use of SHORTER blades, adding stability,
saving engine power, while further reducing noise.
The
EzyCopter is the only coaxial helicopter designed to be
“piloting-friendly” (with its ease of control and safety features),
and “stealthy-friendly” (with its small size and quieter engine
noise). It is the only simplificated (uncomplicated) coaxial VTOL UAV not
requiring any special horizontal or vertical stabilizing gyro sensors to
pilot remotely, making it the only coaxial helicopter platform that can be
easily integrated for autonomous
missions, in a cost effective way!

1980’s while teaching at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio,

3.
Presented a hybrid high-speed VTOL Verticraft in the mid 80’s by
marrying the proven rotorcraft concept with the fixed-wing aircraft;
4.
Developed the world’s first conventional ultralight helicopter in
the 1990’s meeting the FAA FAR Part 103 ultralight and other regulations
and sold in many countries for recreational flying, and as ultralight VTOL
UAV’s;
5.
In the early 2000’s founded Yoshine Helicopters Inc., and
developed the EzyCopter and other helicopter (UAV) technologies;
6.
By 2005 the EzyCopter has successfully flown as an uncomplicated
no-tail-rotor coaxial VTOL UAV without the need of stabilizing gyro
sensors.
